We apologize in advance for the “spicy” language in this discussion 🙃 — blame it on our frustration with the endless word salad stuffed into this document. Beneath the lofty jargon, the reality is simple: big spending, more bureaucracy, and deeper state control over NC children and families.
And don’t think this is “just a North Carolina thing.” 🚨 Initiatives like this are spreading nationwide. The glossy talk of being “number one” should raise eyebrows — number one by whose standards? Do we really want schools competing in some political scoreboard game, or do we want them focused on the basics: giving every individual student a strong academic foundation?
This conversation isn’t just about NC. It’s about keeping education accountable to parents and local communities everywhere.
