What exactly is a “government ecosystem,” and why is the same ecosystem language appearing across education, STEM, workforce development, communities, technology, economics, and government? In this episode, Common Core Diva Lynne Taylor joins Tim Brown to examine the growing use of STEM and government “ecosystems” and their connections to community alignment and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Following documents and resources from education, government, science, technology, and international organizations, the discussion explores how schools, teachers, employers, government agencies, community organizations, and other partners can be brought together through interconnected systems. Taylor and Brown question what these education and government ecosystems could mean for local control, individual freedom, workforce development, data-driven government, and the increasing alignment of education, communities, and economic policy with sustainable-development objectives.
