Yesterday, Anti CCSS Warriors, I shared with you the news about the U.S. PIE (United States Parents Involved in Education) and their new campaign to dump the U.S. Dept. of Education due to its grasp on America through College and Career Readiness, Common Core State Standards, Career Tech Education, and all that goes with them.
Today, I am challenging any candidate out there running for election this year (2016).
What is the challenge?
I am requesting them to make a video of their signing the U.S. PIE Candidate Pledge.
I would also like to point out that this is my challenge to you, as the Common Core Diva, not the entire U.S. PIE’s challenge.
Why would I do that? I know that as an American citizen, I share the following views:
1) We, the people of the United States are absolutely beyond fed up with the federal level of overreach.
2) We, the people deserve and demand our representative officials to step up.
By you, the candidates, publicly and visually displaying your Pledge signing, we the people, will know for certain you are just as fed up as we are.
We also can know up front you are willing to not only listen to our voices, but will put your elections up as collateral to do so!
Risky? Absolutely. Worth it? Tremendously so!
Think about it…what have we parents been risking?! What have we parents been sacrificing?! (I will let you answer these rhetorical questions on your own.)
If you, as candidates, ARE willing to make a short video, great. Please send it to U.S. PIE website (see: http://www.uspie.org/), if you like, post it on your campaign’s social media and let me know how to steer voters to your sites. While the Pledge is geared for our federal level Congress members and our Presidential candidates, I am asking ALL candidates to participate. Our state level Congress members represent us. Our Governors need to show us they are not tied to the purse strings of the federal government. Our state and local Superintendents need to also sign this Pledge, in my opinion.
Our local level candidates also serve us. Therefore, these candidates will be the ones WE need the most in this War Against the Core!
The power of the people is our votes. We mean business this election year. Do not let us down. We are seeking accountability in our legislators. Federal overreach in ANY area of our lives, including education, is simply unacceptable.
As to my fellow anti CCSS Warriors, if you personally know a candidate whom will sign this Pledge, stand with them all the way (especially in the video, if allowed)! They will need our respect, our support, and our votes. Why? We know how massive the CCSS Machine is. We have seen how many political campaigns (big and small) they have funneled money into in an effort to squeeze out those who can help us STOP Common Core, College and Career Readiness, Career Tech Education, the assessments, the data mining, the ruining of our students.
