How far should government reach into the private role of parents and families? In this episode of Sons of Liberty, Common Core Diva Lynne Taylor joins Tim Brown to examine government-directed parenting, federal family initiatives, social-emotional learning (SEL), behavioral science, reproductive and maternal health resources, and government programs aimed at parents and children. From Moms.gov and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services resources to Department of Education family-engagement programs and the “whole child” approach, we connect the dots and ask an essential question: When does government support for families cross the line into government influence over parenting, family autonomy, and parental rights?

10) General searches (internet) will state there’s no federally funded transgender or alternative sex parenting initiative like there is for moms/dads, BUT why is the government funding studies on these groups?
